How do you secure a canoe on a Jeep Wrangler?
My usual way of transporting a canoe is by padding the gunwale (rim) and strapping it upside down to the roof. Two straps hold the body tight down and ropes link the bow to the front bumper and the stern to the rear bumper. This is the classic ” canoe -on-roof” configuration.
Can you put a canoe on a soft top Jeep?
No issues, just make sure you run a strap from back of the kayak to the front chasi of the jeep to keep it from moving forward and a strap from front of the kayak to jeep to keep it from lifting.

Is canoeing harder than kayaking?

How do you use axle straps?
Simply loop the strap around the axle and hold the two rings together. Then attach any ratchet strap with a hook (we recommend a snap hook) on the end and tighten it down (Photo #1). The tension is placed on the axle of the vehicle, rather than the body or wheel, which provides and safe and strong hold.
