Canoeing the shifting sands of the Wisconsin River is a much different experience than that of the crooked Kickapoo River. The Wisconsin River is perfect for the beginner canoeist as it is only about waist deep most of the way across with a sand bottom. This river also has hundreds of islands and sand bars to pull over to and walk around or set up a tent. Nearly all of the shore and islands are public land along the Wisconsin River, where as the banks of the Kickapoo are mostly private land. Sand bars for camping are first come first serve (no reservations), and remember no glass is allowed on the river.
Our canoes have a 4 person or 800 lb capacity, but most people find it comfortable with just 2 passengers and gear. We offer trips from Muscoda to Boscobel WI. We meet you at the Boscobel landing, and load up you and your gear into our Clubwagon shuttle vehicle and take you to the launching site. Large groups can drop off passengers/gear/coolers at departure landing and have just the drivers meet us at ending landing. Doing it this way allows you to have no schedule to meet so you can fish/swim as much as you want and you get to leave in your own vehicle when you are done with your trip. Just give us a call when you are back at the landing and we then come pick up our canoes, paddles and life vests. Everyone going on the trip must sign a hold harmless waiver form that can be found and printed off under Lodging/Canoe tab.
Trips are $35/day per canoe. Minimum of 3 canoes. Maximum of 10 canoes .
Muscoda to Boscobel – 6 hours of paddling – 16 River Miles – 1, 2, or 3 day outing
Blue River to Boscobel-- 3 hours of paddling – 8 River Miles – 1 or 2 day outing
Reservations must be made atleast one full day in advance. To make reservations call 608-606-9090.
